Happy Valentine's Day from the Solis team!

The celebration of this holiday usually involves indulging in a good chocolate, dinner out on the town, and, if you're lucky, an excursion with your loved one. To get in the spirit of the day, we chatted with 5 awesome couple travel bloggers (who also happen to be huge fans of Solis) about their favorite travel tips and romantic getaways. Some of these couples work full-time and hit the road during vacations, some are digital nomads living out of camper vans (#vanlife), and some have developed entire careers around their blogs. Since 5 devices can connect simultaneously to Solis Hotspot, these couples share the WiFi love on the road—whether they are at work or play.

Their occupations aside, each of these couples have journeyed the globe extensively with one another, and picked up a few lessons from traveling as team on the way. Without further ado, here are their travel tips!

"Between planes, trains, and automobiles, it's easy to skip meals and get hangry (hungry + angry) on the road. Having snacks will placate any lovers quarrel. Trust us :)”

Our all time favorite trip as a couple has been to New Zealand, where we rented a camper van and drove around the South Island for two weeks. This was travel at its very core—just the two of us and the open road. It wasn't a glamorous, 5-star affair, but it was the most memorable and romantic travel experience of our lives.

As far as traveling as a couple, we make sure to always have snacks! Between planes, trains, and automobiles, it's easy to skip meals and get hangry (hungry + angry) on the road. Having snacks will placate any lovers quarrel. Trust us :)

"When you are out of your comfort zone, your senses are heightened, and you notice little things about each other and your surroundings that you wouldn’t normally at home."

As of today, our favorite romantic destination has to be Santorini, Greece.  Honestly, pictures don’t do this place justice!  With traditional white and blue houses built on the cliff sides and arguably one of the most amazing sunsets in the world, what place could be more romantic than this?

Patience and communication are two things we make sure to focus on when we are traveling together. When you are out of your comfort zone, your senses are heightened, and you notice little things about each other and your surroundings that you wouldn’t normally at home. We find it’s important to make these observations a priority so that we can take full advantage of each and every special moment.

3. Taylor & Pete - alwaystheroad.com

"A lot of our most memorable moments have come from unpredictable events that led to spontaneous changes of plans.”

To date, our favorite destination would have to be Lombok, Indonesia. This island is filled with untouched (and uncrowded) pristine beaches, rich culture, delicious Indonesian cuisine, and an active volcano that you can summit on a 3-day trek. If you go, be sure to rent a moped to explore the island. You’ll discover jaw-dropping views and secluded beaches that you and your loved one can have all to yourself!

We’ve done a hefty amount of extended traveling together, and our number one couple’s travel tip is definitely “embrace the unexpected”. A lot of our most memorable moments have come from unpredictable events that led to spontaneous changes of plans.

"[Solis] allows us to have Google Maps available on any trip. Avoiding getting lost means avoiding arguments on the road!”

We love to travel all over the world and we have been to many romantic places, but our all-time favorite romantic destination is Hawaii.  It might partially be because we got engaged on Maui!

As a couple, we’ve become reliant on being connected at all times, and Solis helps accomplish this while eliminating the worry of data overages. It also allows us to have Google Maps available on any trip. Avoiding getting lost means avoiding arguments on the road!

5. MAK & Owen - boundfornowhere.com

"Being able to talk immediately and openly ensures that everyone feels heard. Communication is key!”

Our favorite romantic destination is anywhere in the desert! The desert has such a unique beauty that you can't find anything like it anywhere. It’s such a great place to be alone and really experience quiet nature. Not to mention the desert has some of the best sunsets and night skies going!

Our biggest tip and suggestion for couples traveling together is to keep an open line of communication at all times! When traveling in tight quarters with another person things will always come up, and that is natural. Being able to talk immediately and openly ensures that everyone feels heard. Communication is key!
